Thursday 24 September 2009--It's an early flight out. We had to drag ourselves out of the Lounge Bar early last night--
the session was pretty good, and we were of course enjoying our best night in Shetland. So it goes.
The flight is a bit wobbly, and I'm feeling a little queasy. Glad to get on the ground again. We go into Inverness
for lunch, and pick up a new road bottle, a 15-year-old Glencadam, to replace the late Milford. Then it's the winding road
to Plockton, via Strathcarron. We arrive, happy to be in familiar and friendly territory. Pop the Glencadam for a welcoming
dram, and then nap for a while.
Dinner is at the Plockton Inn. Nice to see that they now feature beer from the local brewery--the Crags ale, named
for the cliffs we can see from the B&B window, is a really good pint. And we'll have plenty--it's session night here, a real
cracker. There is a good balance of instruments, and polished ensemble playing. We leave after the bar is shut off, the players still
playing. We'll probably be sorry in the morning...ah, no, we won't. Well worth it.
