Friday 22 September 2023---We have coffee and pastry this morning at Boulangerie Le Fournand, which Marc discovered when we were here in 2019. I'm happy to see that the cheerful Australian lass is still here. I have the impression that she runs the place; whatever the case, she works hard, and is very fit.
Our only plan for the day is to hang around town. It's not big. We walk up and down the boardwalk, and take in the view from the observation tower. Stroll the main street from one end to the other, poking our noses into whatever shops are open. I buy a few postcards (which seem to be in the process of becoming not a thing anymore), and find the post office for the appropriate stamps. We go back to the boulangerie for lunch--the salads the people were having at the table next to us at breakfast looked good. They are. There's an afternoon pint at Pit Caribou, and dinner at La Maison Du Pêcheur again, because we quite liked that, too. We have minor complaints this evening--my chowder isn't really hot--but we're too chill to make a fuss. Pints at Pit Caribou close out the evening.
