Sunday 1 October 2023---I take Ron on the circuit of l'Île d'Orléans today. We cross the suspension bridge, now in its 88th year of service, and note the early work being done on the island side for its replacement, scheduled for completion in 2028.
We takes strolls around Ste-Pétronille and St-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, and stop for lunch at Pub Le Mitan. The pub has had a rather extensive makeover since I was here last. We finish the tour with a visit to Domaine Steinbach to pick up a bottle of sparkling cider. I've forgotten that Steinbach wasn't really my favorite.
Back on the mainland, we visit Montmorency Falls, a very popular tourist stop. And that's our touring day...I haven't made it sound like much, but it's a fairly full day. I hope Ron has gotten a good taste of what the bucolic Île-d'Orléans is about.
This evening we catch a bus to Limoilou and have dinner and pints at La Souche, and another pint at Brasseurs Sur Demande. Both places seem a bit subdued. We are, too, I guess. I think we're both tired and about ready to go home.
