Thursday 18 October 2012--In the spirit of slowing things down, I take my annual Plockton down day. Get out late in the morning and take a stroll
around town, actually managing to see a few things I haven't before--the bowling green, the church. This latter is one of 32 so-called Parliamentary
Churches built in the 1820s at government expense, for communities in need in the Highlands and Islands, to a common design by Thomas (Who Else) Telford.
Sixteen survive.
I have lunch in the Plockton Inn, and return to the B&B for a nap. It's session night at the Inn, and I usually wander in early for dinner.
There are no tables available in the lounge, however, so I eat at the Plockton Hotel before returning to the Inn for the rest of the evening. It is, as
always, a fine session.
