Tuesday 9 October 2007--The sky clouded over and I untied my jacket from my waist and put it on against the chill. Commenced a wide circumnavigation of a bowl of bog and was about to head up the hill when the sun emerged again. I doffed my jacket, and, as I tied it around my waist, realized that my bumbag was gone. My heart sank...what was in it? My return ticket to Mallaig, my onward ticket to Skye...no, that's in my wallet. My infrared filter. Damn. Did it fall off when I stopped for lunch on the last hilltop? My heart sank some more when I realized that it must have happened when I untied my jacket. It would be easy to spot on the summit, but open ground is another matter. But I remembered that I'd had my hand-held GPS on the whole time, and could use it to retrace my steps. Almost stepped on the bumbag before I saw it--I'd never have found it without the GPS. As I bent over to pick it up, I remembered that my passport was in it. Just as well I didn't think of it until that moment.

Thursday 9 October 2014--I meet Ron at the airport in Glasgow, and we drive to Gourock to catch the ferry for Dunoon. Crossing the Firth of Clyde here always puts me in a Highland mood. We stop for a walkaround in Inveraray, and the standard Three Sisters photo op in Glen Coe. Pass up a break in Fort William--it isn't raining--and push on through to Plockton.

Arrive in Plockton at about 6:00. There's a gorgeous pink glow over the bay. We have dinner at the Plockton Inn and stay for the session. We're there until closing. Will likely be sorry in the morning.
