Monday 17 October 2016--Visited Culloden Battlefield today, site of Bonnie Prince Charlie's final crushing defeat. The museum/visitor center is very good--learned quite a lot about the historical context of the attempt to restore the Stuarts to the throne. The battlefield itself is...well...a field. The clan grave markers were erected by the landowner 135 years after the event, the last pitched battle on British soil, in April of 1746.
