Saturday 30 October 2010--Miss breakfast, but surprisingly don't feel too bad when I get up at 10:30. Damage assessment: a scrape
on the heel of my left hand, slightly sprained ligaments in the right. Worst thing is a tear in the knee of my jeans, a new pair (and a
corresponding tear in the knee of my epidermis). Best thing is my camera is undamaged.
I'm out and about at the crack of noon. Lunch is at Café Rouge, followed by shopping at Coda and Cadenhead's. The former is
Scotland's premier folk and trad record shop. The latter is an outlet for one of Scotland's top independent whisky bottlers. Mark provides
blether and some blessedly lubricative samples, and I walk away with a Bladnoch and a Clynelish.
Catch the bus back to the B&B and clean out the car in preparation for tomorrow's departure. After a shower, I stroll over to the
Stockbridge Tap for dinner. I intend to go back up to the Bow Bar, but inertia overcomes me, and I enjoy a few pints at the Tap. Best,
perhaps, to put off a return to the Bow until next year, when hopefully I will have been forgotten.
