Saturday 5 October 2013--Shopping day. I left my hand-held GPS at home, so buy a new one at an outdoor shop on Rose Street. Then up to Coda for a stack of CDs, and Cadenhead's for a couple of bottles, a Springbank and a Teaninich. There is more sampling involved. Someone at Coda mentioned a free food fair at the university, so I go to check that out. There's a long line...I don't do lines. Find lunch elsewhere and take my haul back to the B&B on the bus. After a nap, I catch the bus back up to the Mile and meet Willie at the Bow Bar. Many pints and drams meet their demise. Audrey arrives at 10:00 to whisk Willie away, and I proceed to have unnecessary pints at the Ox and the Cumberland. There must have been dinner in there somewhere. The bartender at the Cumberland wakes me in the snug at closing and sends me on my way. I travel on the street, through Canonmills...if I were to stumble on that footpath, no one would find me until morning. No one good, anyway.
