Tuesday 27 September 2022--It's about six and a half miles from Seahouses
to Low Newton-by-the-Sea, through Beadnell and along the beach. It's a walk
I've done numerous times, but walking distances is getting difficult for me. I had
second thoughts about staying in Seahouses, because walking along the
beaches is what I like to do. Well, I'm here; I might as well give it a go. The wind,
out of the north, will be at my back.
Beadnell is two miles along. I feel okay at that point, so decide to go for it. The
beach is as easy walking as there is; it's level, and the sand is firm. My feet are
killing me by the time Low Newton comes into sight, but I've made it. It's nice to
know I can do this if I push myself a little. I should push myself more often, I
guess. I'm happy to sit for a while out in front of the Ship Inn with a pint. Then
it's another three-quarters of a mile up to the bus stop.
Dinner is at the Bamburgh Castle Inn, then pints at the Olde Ship. There's a
session, the first I've ever seen here. It's a pleasant way to spend the evening.
