Saturday 1 October 2022--I go shopping at Waterstones this morning,
but don't buy anything. Then I go to the National Museum. I haven't been in for
some time, and they've shuffled a lot of things around. I'm mostly interested in
artifacts pertaining to Scotland's history, from the neolithic to the medieval, and
I'm frustrated to find that there is no clear order to things. Furthermore, many of
the interpretive signs are difficult to read--some are set very low, and the print is
not large--and it often is not clear which objects are being described. Could do
a better job there, Museum.
Stop in at Royal Mile Whiskies for a chat with Mark, and arrange to meet him
at the Jolly Judge later.
Mark and Willie show up at the Judge at 6:00, and we have a typically convivial
session of pints and drams. I have a nightcap at Kays. I haven't done much here,
but I didn't really plan to do much.
