9 October 2015--We drove back into Sweden today, and not far from the town of Ystad visited Ales Stenar, or Ale's Stones. This ship-shaped array of standing stones, 67 meters long, is probably about 1400 years old, although there is evidence that the site was in use thousands of years earlier. The array is aligned to observe the solstices and equinoxes.
