Wednesday 16 October 2024--We take our usual walk along the Speyside Way to Aberlour. At the Mash Tun, we opt for coffee, rather than a pint.

Late in the afternoon, we stroll up the road to the Fiddichside Inn for a pre-dinner pint. The place was closed for nearly three years after Joe Brandie died in 2017, reopening under new ownership early in 2020. Not good timing...the place has changed hands again since. We visited in 2016. We find now the place has been spiffed up, but the tiny barroom is not much changed. There's a deck with picnic tables overlooking the river, and an attached cottage available for rent. It's nice to see the place still alive.

We have dinner and pints back at the Highlander. I'm in bed fairly early again.
