Monday 28 October 2024--Travel day, train to Glasgow, where we are staging for our flight home. We're staying in a hotel just outside George Square, one of the more affordable ones, but nonetheless clean and comfortable. We stayed at the same one when we attended Celtic Connections early last year. It's convenient to the train station and the bus to the airport.

We have pizza and pints at the Shilling Brewing Company, and then settle in at our favorite Glaswegian pub, the Pot Still.

I usually post a photo or two on Facebook daily, to let folks at home know what Ron and I are up to. Bobby gives most of them a Like, and occasionally comments. He has not done either for about ten days, nor responded to an email I sent few days ago. This evening we receive word that he has been in the hospital in Boston. Bobby was diagnosed with lymphoma a few years ago. After several rounds of chemo, he was declared cancer-free, but after a while it returned. He was put on medication which he was told would keep it in check for two or three years, after which they'd have to try something else. Two years was up a couple months ago. We're hoping that there is in fact something else to try.
