Tuesday 8 October 2019--Explore south and west today, ending up in my favorite brown cafe, 't Brugs Beertje. Brown cafes are so called because in the old days, the walls were stained with nicotine. The march of progress being what it is, smoking is no longer allowed inside, and I imagine the walls have long since been scrubbed clean. But the look is studiously maintained.
