Thursday 24 October 2019--Arran is geologically interesting—the Highland Boundary Fault cuts right through the middle of it,
so that the northern half of the island is Highland, and the southern half is Lowland. There's a road called the String cutting
across along the fault, and another called the Ross that cuts the southeastern part of the island. Today we drive across the String
to visit the standing stones on Machrie Moor, then circle around the southern half, stopping for lunch at the new Lagg Distillery.
