Saturday 27 October 2018--Departure day. I received a message from Caledonian MacBrayne last night, telling me the ferry would likely be an hour late this morning. Our margin of error for getting the lads to the airport in time for their flight home was slim to begin with, and now seemed untenable. So they flew to Glasgow this morning and took a bus to Edinburgh, arriving with plenty of time to spare. On my own again, I caught the ferry from Port Askaig to the mainland, and made the long drive around Loch Fyne, arriving several hours later in Aberdour, where I'm staging for my own flight tomorrow. I think I would have gotten the lads to the airport with a half an hour to spare, but it would have been a long tense drive.
