Thursday 29 August 2019--Sunny day, a nice day to go see the countryside
and bag a couple of brewpubs. I drive a roundabout route to St-Hyacinthe,
east through Rougemont to St-Pie, then northwest. St-Hyacinthe is a city of
55,000 that I have known heretofore only as a highway sign. Approaching from
the south, along the Yamaska River, I pass through La Porte des Anciens Maires, a monumental gate built in From there, I drive to Beloeil,
across the Richelieu River from Mont Saint-Hilaire. There are microbrasseries in both towns I haven't been to before.
