Friday 25 October 2019--We drive across the Ross, just to do it, then circle around the northern half of Arran. The village of Blackwaterfoot, at the western end of the String, looked interesting when we saw it from a distance yesterday, so we stop for a walkabout. Turns out there's not much to it, aside from (I kid you not) a Best Western Hotel. The bar there looks nice. We also stop for a look around Lochranza, which has a ruined castle and the more established Arran Distillery, about 25 years old now. We have lunch there, and I give in to the temptation of a distillery-only bottle of the product to take home.
